Sonnet Announces New Thunderbolt 3 Upgrade and Expansion Solutions

Sonnet Technologies announced the immediate availability of Thunderbolt 3 upgrade cards for its existing Thunderbolt 2 expansion systems, providing all the benefits of Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and allow use with the latest MacBook Pro and iMac computers. Sonnet also released new Thunderbolt 3 editions of all its Thunderbolt-to-PCI Express (PCIe) expansion systems, and will soon show the new eGFX Breakaway Box, designed specifically for graphics cards.

Sonnet Technologies is one of many companies showing Thunderbolt 3 solutions for the professional creation market at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The company launched both desktop and rackmount versions of three-slot expansion chassis now with 2750 MB/s of PCI Express bandwidth via Thunderbolt 3 interface. The new Echo Express III-D (desktop) and Echo Express III-R (rackmount) Thunderbolt-to-PCI Express (PCIe) three-slot expansion chassis will be available May 22, 2017.

Audinate has released its latest firmware update for the Dante PCIe soundcard. Version 3.7.1 delivers a range of new features, including audio signal presence indicators, latency statistics monitoring and packet error detection. In addition, the Dante PCIe high performance soundcard may now be used with several popular Thunderbolt expansion chassis from Magma, Sonnet Technologies and OWC.
