Soundskrit Announces SKR0600 Next-Generation Directional MEMS Microphone With Improved SNR

After the success of the SKR0400, now implemented in a breadth of consumer products, Soundskrit announced its next-generation product: the SKR0600 MEMS microphone. With an improved 67.5dBA SNR, the new directional microphones provide pro-audio quality in smaller footprint. In its standard configuration, the SKR0600 microphone exhibits a dipole polar pattern from 20Hz to 20kHz, and can be converted into any cardioid-based polar pattern with the simple addition of an acoustic mesh.

Opal Camera announced Tadpole, a compact and light webcam built exclusively for laptops and tablets, with DSLR image quality and featuring VisiMic audio capture. The webcam intends to solve all the pains that users experience with standard built-in webcams, making the experience seamless and automatic. Apart from the superior image quality, the Tadpole is the first product in the market to feature directional MEMS microphones from Canadian startup Soundskrit, with its unique background noise cancellation features.

It's not everyday that we see a new type of microphone showing up in the market. Soundskrit, the Canadian company determined to evolve MEMS microphones for consumer electronics, announced the availability of its second product, the SKR0410, touted as the world’s first digital directional MEMS microphone. The SKR0410 brings the latest innovations in MEMS and acoustic transducer design to the digital domain to enable directional audio capture in consumer devices of all form factors.
