Nugen Audio Releases DialogCheck Speech Intelligibility Software

Nugen Audio, the UK-based developer of professional loudness metering/correction, mixing/mastering, and audio analysis software tools, has now introduced a new speech intelligibility plug-in, DialogCheck. A mono, stereo and multichannel dialog clarity meter, the software provides an objective measure of speech intelligibility. DialogCheck is ideally suited for use in film, television, radio, podcasting and game audio production, as well as post-production environments.

AudioSourceRE, the company that has demonstrated what is possible in high-quality AI-powered audio separation technology, has announced a new level of processing accuracy and quality of results with the launch of DeMIX Pro v6. The standalone software is AudioSourceRE's main product for studio work using AI algorithms to isolate vocals and any other instruments from existing mixes. The updated version now improves quality of results, allowing playback while it is still processing with GPU and Apple Silicon hardware acceleration.

One of the audio technology highlights at IFA 2024 was the announcement by DTS of its new Clear Dialogue on-device solution for TV OEMs. Leveraging its vast experience and IP portfolio with audio processing and enhancement technologies, from content production and distribution, all the way to the home, the Xperi subsidiary was able to apply AI-based audio processing to deliver a solution that identifies, separates and enhances spoken dialogue for TV audio to improve user experience.

To make it easier for all developers to include MPEG-H Audio playback into their applications, the MPEG-H Audio decoder software implementation from Fraunhofer IIS is now available as source code on GitHub. As the research institute explains, the release is intended to facilitate the broad adoption of advanced audio formats with immersive audio and personalization capabilities. The MPEG-H Audio System development team was recently awarded the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize 2023 for their work.
