The Automotive EZ-PD CCG3PA controller delivers a plug-and-play user experience to automotive charging ports by providing support for the USB PD 3.0 standard with programmable power supply (PPS), Qualcomm’s Quick Charge (QC) 4.0 protocol, and legacy charging standards.

The Cypress Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo solution uses Real Simultaneous Dual Band (RSDB) technology so that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can operate concurrently without degradation caused by switching back and forth between bands.

The programmable EZ-USB HX3PD hub controller simplifies USB-C dock system designs by integrating the functionality of five chips into one, lowering bill-of-materials (BOM) and reducing board size by as much as 50%. The highly-integrated controller is ideal for notebook and tablet docking stations, monitor docks and multi-function USB-C peripherals.

Cypress Semiconductor announced that its programmable, EZ-PD CCG5 two-port USB-C controller with Power Delivery (PD) has now been qualified by Intel for use in Thunderbolt 3 host and peripheral designs. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C enables data transfers at speeds up to 40 Gbps via a compact port with the ability to transmit multiple protocols and provide fast device charging. Reference designs are now available to enable fast time-to-market for PCs, docking stations, hard drives and a variety of other peripherals.
