Shure Introduces SLX-D Digital Wireless System

Using the current pause in the live events and performance markets, Shure just announced an important update to its range of digital wireless solutions, introducing the multi-faceted SLX-D Digital Wireless System. This new range provides end users with greater channel count than the existing analog SLX, adds smart rechargeable options, and simplified ease-of-use. The new system is offered in single and dual channel options.

The global pro AV industry reached a peak of $259 billion in 2019. Due to the global pandemic, the industry is expected to decline to $239 billion in 2020, according to the new 2020 AV Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA) produced by AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association. IOTA shows the industry recovering back its pre-COVID levels in 2022 before growing to $315 billion in 2025. This represents a 5.8% five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and will drive industry revenue $56 billion beyond its 2019 level.

Designed to set a new benchmark for full-bandwidth, high definition portable audio at a user-friendly price point, Martin Audio has announced BlacklineX Powered, bringing new active options to its BlacklineX family of portable sound reinforcement solutions. The new self-powered portable range from the British brand, was launched in a special event in London, anticipating its presentation at InfoComm 2019.

Panduit Corp., a manufacturer of electrical and network infrastructure solutions, announced it has acquired AV manufacturer Atlona. Atlona designs and develops innovative, award-winning products for a diverse range of commercial and residential AV and IT markets worldwide, including education, business, government, entertainment, and healthcare. Atlona will continue to operate from its Silicon Valley-based global headquarters and from its international headquarters in Zurich.

The explosion of Voice Assistant (VA) technology in the consumer segment has been phenomenal, with 37 million units of smart speakers installed worldwide as of end 2017. This technology is starting to make waves into the B2B environment, with Futuresource Consulting predicting that by 2022, 82 million professional A/V displays and room control devices shipped will be voice-enabled. This excludes usage of dedicated consumer smart speakers in healthcare, hospitality and education.

QSC appointed Joey D’Angelo as its new Director of Systems Solutions, to develop QSC’s growing system market presence in Corporate AV and beyond. D’Angelo will be deeply engaged in product conceptualization and roadmap discussions for QSC Systems in the Corporate AV arena and other key market segments.

At InfoComm 2015, QSC is launching a new conferencing solution for meeting spaces, expanding the company’s philosophy of modular and IT-based networked systems. The new solution includes the SPA amplifier series, the TSC-7t PoE tabletop advanced touchscreen dialer, and the Q-SYS Core 110f software-based DSP appliance.
