Solid State Logic Launches 16 Channel Origin Mixing Console

As one of the main and few product announcements at the two-day short 153rd AES Convention taking place in New York, and basically hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters, Solid State Logic announced a completely new Origin console range in a 16-channel variant. The new console basically responds to the huge popularity of the SSL Origin mixing console, now in a configuration that works well for private and project studios.

These days, it's very rare to see new studio mixers being announced and even more if they are analog designs. That's why the announcement from British brand Audient that the ASP4816 Heritage Edition console is ready for shipping is something to take note. Previewed back in June, at the 2022 NAMM show, the new console features a brand new look and a few more tricks up its sleeve, inspired by its larger counterpart: Audient’s flagship console, ASP8024-HE.

The new THAT1580 is a versatile, high performance current-feedback amplifier which improves price-performance ratio for differential microphone preamplifier and bus summing applications. The 1580 is designed to mate perfectly with THAT’s series of Digital Preamplifier Controller ICs.
