DSP Concepts Appoints Chris Reed as Chief Operating Officer

DSP Concepts continues its expansion trajectory as market demand for the solutions enabled by the Audio Weaver development platform far outpaces its own structure. The Audio of Things company announced accomplished industry executive Chris Reed as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Reed will drive operational excellence, process streamlining, change management, and execution of go-to-market strategy.

DSP Concepts announced the availability of a new toolkit for True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds powered by its Audio Weaver development platform. The toolkit features a reference design optimized to run on the Cadence Tensilica HiFi 5 DSP in partnership with Airoha, a MediaTek subsidiary and manufacturer of low-power TWS Systems on Chip (SoCs). The development kit also includes a reference design with a fully operational earbud prototype designed by Knowles.

DSP Concepts, the company founded by Paul and Chin Beckmann, and the creators of the Audio Weaver DSP platform that powers sound and voice features in many of the world's leading consumer and automotive brands, announced that it has successfully closed $28 million in Series C funding. Joining as leading investor, entrepreneur Yuchun Lee has been appointed as Executive Chairman and is intent on leading the company's growth as the enabler of the "Audio of Things."
