Audio Industry Survey Reveals Trends and Concerns in Audio Archiving

Based on key topics raised during an Iron Mountain Entertainment Services (IMES) and Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing (P&E Wing) co-hosted 2021 summit “Protecting Legacies: The Art, Science and Value of Music Archives,” IMES, the P&E Wing and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) developed a survey to assess current practices and challenges in audio archiving. The survey was sent to approximately 4,000 members of the P&E Wing and 11,000 members of the AES.

The Audio Engineering Society recently held its first International Conference on Audio Archiving, Preservation & Restoration to a sold-out crowd of attendees at the Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center (NAVCC) Packard Campus in Culpeper, Virginia, June 28-30, 2018. Iron Mountain Entertainment Services was the platinum sponsor, with the RIAA, and Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing also sponsoring the event.

Musicanote, a music media content startup from Seoul, South Korea, which previously developed a music search engine, has now launched an online music score annotation service. The platform for archiving musical knowledge, enables text, images, and videos to be added to music scores online. Musicanote is a member of the K-ICT Born2Global Centre, a startup ecosystem from the main Korean government agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Prolight+Sound has published full details of the conference agenda for 2015. A broad spectrum of topics and renowned speakers include over 50 lectures during the first three days of the fair (15-17 April 2015). The Prolight+Sound Conference and Eventplaza Conference in Frankfurt will discuss the latest technological developments, new application areas and legal issues.
