Shure Launches Next-Generation of Frequency Coordination for Audio Professionals With New Axient Digital Spectrum Manager

During the 153rd AES convention in New York, Shure unveiled the successor to its recognized AXT600 Axient Spectrum Manager, the new AD600 Axient Digital Spectrum Manager. The AD600 Axient Digital Spectrum Manager is a powerful, next-generation tool for planning and managing frequency coordination in the most demanding professional audio applications, including touring, broadcast, location sound, theater, and houses of worship.

At the AES Show 2022 in New York City, Avid announced a new USB-C desktop audio interface that it named MBOX in reference to the many Mbox audio interfaces that helped make Pro Tools popular among whole generations of creative users. The 2022 MBOX Studio is a valuable hardware option for Pro Tools software, with a desktop format that makes it practical for home studios, podcasting and streaming applications. It's not a very refined design, it offers big knobs instead of faders, and Avid specifies it as "USB-C 2.0" which shows that they don't really care.

The AES 2022 convention in NY allowed British manufacturer DiGiCo to reveal the latest in its range of theater-targeted Quantum consoles, the all-new Quantum338T. With “in the box” mixing reducing the need for outboard equipment and a lightweight control surface, the addition of the most recent theater-specific software features to the company's renowned digital mixing engines, allowed creating the new Quantum338T mixer as a complete solution for fixed and touring theater productions.

As one of the main and few product announcements at the two-day short 153rd AES Convention taking place in New York, and basically hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters, Solid State Logic announced a completely new Origin console range in a 16-channel variant. The new console basically responds to the huge popularity of the SSL Origin mixing console, now in a configuration that works well for private and project studios.

The OCA Alliance, a non-profit corporation formed to promote the AES70 standard and Open Control Architecture (OCA) ecosystem, as a control solution for professional media networking applications will present the latest features in the standard’s upcoming release at two important industry events. First with a presentation at the AES NY convention, October 19-20, followed by the annual SMPTE Media Technology Summit, in Hollywood, CA.

The Audio Engineering Society confirms that full details are now online for the in-person All Access Technical Program for October’s eagerly-anticipated AES New York 2022 Convention. The 153rd AES New York 2022 Convention takes place as usual at the Jacob Javits Center, October 19–20, with pre-and post-show activities on the 18th and 21st, followed by an online component, October 26–27. The convention will be again co-located with the NAB Show New York
