Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar and Control App Receives Major Software Update

The future of Sennheiser's AMBEO technology just received an important boost with the announcement of the all-new AMBEO|OS to provide AMBEO Soundbar users with an even more immersive 3D home audio experience. With AMBEO|OS, all AMBEO Soundbars will now support Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. Additionally, Sennheiser has completely updated its Smart Control app with an intuitive and new user experience to give Soundbar and headphone users effortless sound control and personalization.

MSC Technologies, a business group of Avnet Electronics introduced the new WLAN-Module HDG820 for 802.11.b/g/n networks, designed by H&D Wireless AB (Sweden). The solution incorporates a complete IP protocol set running on an internal ARM Cortex core and is an ideal platform for advanced smart-home, IoT and M2M applications over Wi-Fi.

Tascam’s DR-44WL and DR22-WL are the first portable handheld recorders in the market to include Wi-Fi for transport control, file transfer and audio streaming to smartphones or PC. For Wi-Fi implementation, Tascam used GainSpan’s GS2100MIP Wi-Fi module which allows direct connection with other devices without the need of a Wi-Fi router.

In 2014, the Wi-Fi Alliance celebrates 15 years. Interoperability, ease of use and innovation lies at the heart of one of technology’s greatest success stories. In the roadmap for the next 2 years are new frequency bands, WiGig supporting multiple-gigabit data rates in 60 GHz, and new 802.11ah and 802.11af standards for operation below 1 GHz to support longer-range, very-low-power connectivity.
