Telenav and Alpine Electronics Partner to Enable OEMs and Car Owners to Instantly Upgrade In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems

Telenav, a leading provider of connected-car and location-based services, and Alpine Electronics, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of automotive electronic components, announced they are teaming up to develop an easy, low-cost way to quickly upgrade existing in-vehicle infotainment systems by simply inserting Alpine’s infotainment device with Telenav’s VIVID infotainment system into a vehicle’s USB port.

Cypress Semiconductor announced the expansion of its wireless connectivity portfolio for automotive infotainment with a trio of new products. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo chipsets and supporting software serve as application development platforms that enable multiple users to connect and seamlessly stream unique content to as many as 10 mobile devices simultaneously. The new Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 combo solutions deliver more than 1Gbps throughput and feature Cypress' Real Simultaneous Dual Band (RSDB) architecture to enable high-performance audio and video concurrent operation.

CSR announced two new automotive infotainment products at TU Automotive Detroit 2015. The new CSRatlas7 platform combines hardware and software to boost simplicity, lower costs, and speed time-to-market. CSR also has entered the car radio tuner front-end market with tuneX, a cost-effective software-defined radio (SDR) solution for the in-vehicle environment.
