Lessons in Life. A Tribute to Peter Janis (1958-2024)

Last week I received the very sad news about the passing of Peter Janis, the founder of Radial Engineering. I always admired Radial Engineering for its ability to always surprise and delight with inventive and practical solutions that solved real issues for musicians and audio engineers, in many fields of application. Every time I had the chance to meet Peter Janis at any trade show around the world, I would find that he enjoyed as much to surprise and delight with those inventive and practical solutions.

While the world is taking on day-to-day activities in new ways and working with new circumstances, the Audio Engineering Society is bringing “A World of Audio” to virtual attendees, this June 2 – 5, with the AES Virtual Vienna Convention. AES Virtual Vienna Convention activities will include student recording and design competitions, an Education and Career Fair, Student Delegate Assembly events and more for just $25 for AES Student Members.

Meyer Sound Laboratories, Inc. has appointed John McMahon to the newly created position of Vice President of Solutions and Strategy, working closely with CEO John Meyer and Executive Vice President Helen Meyer. McMahon joined Meyer Sound in 2005 during the acquisition of Level Control Systems (LCS Audio) where he served as CEO.
