German company SPL used the Tonmeistertagung 2023 (tmt32) conference and exhibition in Düsseldorf to present new products in its professional recording series. This time, SPL introduced its next generation of channel strips, the Channel One Mk3 and the Track One Mk3. Both are updates to the SPL Studio Series, combining a complete source preamplifier and mixing channel strip with analog dynamics processing, improved and optimized for the needs of modern recording studios.

The award was presented to Brandenburg during the opening ceremony of the 32nd Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf, Germany, which also honored Günther Theile. The VDT is one of the oldest and biggest professional associations in the audio industry and the promoter of the biannual Tonmeistertagung conference and exhibition, which took place from 8 to 11 November.

The Alliance for Open Media is a non-profit industry consortium formed to develop open, royalty-free technology for multimedia delivery that can "serve as alternatives" to the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) standards. The organization is the creator of the AV1 Video Codec and now proposes an Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF) Container Specification that the organization says will enable ecosystem-wide innovation in the Immersive/Spatial audio domain.
