This high-resolution digital audio transmission system processes signals fully digitally in all stages from input to output, being less susceptible to signal degradation caused by external noise. A JENO Engine has been used in the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) of the SU-GX70 - installed in a Technics product for the first time. This helps to reduce any degradation in sound quality caused by jitter during the transmission of digital audio signals (S/PDIF), ensuring unparalleled levels of clarity in TV audio.
High-quality audio components have been used in various other locations, too. For example, chip film capacitors have been used in place of power supply noise-reduction capacitors and signal path coupling capacitors. A new Twin Power Supply helps deliver a high signal-to-noise ratio for a more detailed sound. The Clean Power Clock Generator technology, taken from Technics' Reference Class components, enables an ultimately stable clock signal for a high-precision digital signal processing.
The SU-GX70 comes with a true wealth of functionalities. Based on the Google Chromecast platform, it allows the use of streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz and Amazon Music. It also supports MQA decoding and supports Wi-Fi, Airplay 2 and Bluetooth wireless options. Two line inputs, 3 digital inputs as well as USB support connectivity to a wide range of source components. Apart from Internet radio, the SU-GX70 supports FM radio. Finally – and, as to be expected from a company with legendary vinyl record products – a high-grade, low-noise phono preamp allows users to hook up a turntable with EQ for an MM pickup cartridge.

The speaker outputs also benefit from a new speaker impedance adaptive optimization algorithm that performs correction to the ideal impulse response through digital signal processing by measuring the frequency amplitude-phase characteristics of the amplifier with the speakers connected. This technique enables flattening of the frequency characteristics of amplitude and phase, which had previously not been achieved by amplifiers, while also delivering a sound with rich spatial expression.
For users who already own a superior stereo amplification system, the Technics SU-GX70 offers a direct preamp output. There is also a Pure Amplification Mode that shuts off the power supply to the network and HDMI circuits, removing any potential noise from the device or antenna. This, according to Technics, ensures music playback with even better clarity.
Additionally, the SU-GX70 is equipped with what Technics calls the "Space Tune" function, which enables the adjustment of sound according to the room environment and installation location so that anyone can enjoy superb music reproduction. By using the Technics Audio Center app (iOS only) for tablets/smartphones or by selecting a setting from the four presets - "Free," "Wall," "Corner" and "In a Shelf" - the SU-GX70 can be adjusted according to the installation location. Not exactly a room compensation, but a preset profile for the location of the speakers, the user is able to achieve a more suitable sound quality for a specific acoustic environment.

The SU-GX70 comes in a beautifully elegant, classic hifi design in both silver and black. It will be available at authorized Technics retailers from July 2023 for $1,999 USD.
Technics is the brand name of hi-fi audio products owned by the Panasonic Corporation with main residence in Osaka, Japan. The Technics brand was founded in 1965.
