Rycote, the renowned developer and manufacturer of shock and wind protection systems for field production sound, has been a key industry player since its foundation in 1969. In a significant update, the company recently declared its decision to transition from Stroud to Ashby-De-La-Zouch, United Kingdom, expanding its manufacturing capabilities and efficiency. This move underscores the company's commitment to achieving the highest levels of excellence in the audio industry.

Since Rycote was acquired by the Vitec Group in 2018, the company and brand has been incorporated in the expanding Media Solutions Division, together with Audix and Joby, allowing it to expand the market for its microphone windshields and suspension systems to the thriving content creation space. Vitec has meanwhile changed it’s name to Videndum plc in 2022, and all its companies, which continue to operating independently, integrated in its countries of origin, are now benefiting from further investments and expansion.

Central to this effort is Rycote's unwavering commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction through innovative technology and best-in-class products. The relocation move will enable Rycote to upgrade and expand its manufacturing and distribution facilities, further develop innovation capabilities, and remain ahead of its competitors in providing its customers with cutting-edge solutions. "With customer focus at the forefront of our endeavours, Rycote is excited about its imminent plans and its ability to deliver value beyond expectations," the company states.

"Our new location gives us the opportunity to provide an even higher level of customer satisfaction by ensuring that our products meet the highest standards in every aspect from design and development through delivery," says Bjørn Rennemo-Henriksen, Audio Sales Sr Director for Rycote.

The new facility in Ashby will enable Rycote to streamline its production processes and optimize customer service. Quality control will be a priority in order to guarantee that each product meets Rycote’s high standards. As part of this move, they will be establishing a Hemi Anechoic Wind Tunnel for product development, testing and quality control. Additionally, the global distribution footprint will be expanded so that customers worldwide can benefit from Rycote’s selection of apparel and accessories.

"We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience when dealing with us from start to finish. The relocation of our headquarters is just one part of this commitment – we want them to know that we are here for them every step of the way," adds Bjørn.
