RCF Introduces Business Music Installation Series at ISE 2020

February 7 2020, 00:10
RCF announced an expansion of its audio installation solutions catalog to be unveiled at Integrated Systems Europe (Amsterdam, February 11-14, 2020). The new new RCF Business Music line was designed to assist the architect and installer with a new application-focused series of high-quality products. The series includes new speaker designs and innovative new integrated mixer amplifiers with built-in DSP, combining the latest RCF technologies and designs for Commercial Audio systems.

RCF conceived the new Business Music line for all applications that require high audio quality, configuration flexibility, and a scalable architecture, allowing the distribution of different audio channels in different environments, each with specific volume and equalization needs. As the Italian company explains, the new series is intended as a perfect solution from small to large installations, combining full processing features, exceptional power, and easy configuration.

"The target application range is extremely wide and varies from retail stores to bars and restaurants, meeting rooms, education or public facilities, and in general to any A/V application. The new Business Music line includes both amplifiers and speakers, with the aim of offering complete sound solutions and maximization of the overall acoustic performance," RCF explains.

The new Business Music amplifiers feature an extremely compact size (1/2 rack unit width and 1 rack unit height) making them ideal for both desktop and rack installation (with dedicated optional accessories). The design was engineered to deliver environmental robustness (IP 30 protection grade and high-efficiency thermal dissipation), creating a crossover technology between the requirements of professional and consumer markets.

The series also includes two Digital Mixer Amplifiers models, the DMA 82 (2 x 80W) and DMA 162 (2 x 160W), combining a powerful DSP platform with recallable speaker presets that are available on the RCF website. The integrator only needs to set parameters for the environment rather than the speakers. The configuration is either via the front panel with a dedicated user interface and OLED display or using the optional RDNet network board, while it will also be possible to control some of the features of the device from third-party systems via serial protocol. The Digital Mixer Amplifiers are also able to distribute four audio channels to satellite DPA units, creating a scalable architecture for further installation flexibility.

With its on-board signal processing capabilities, the DMA 162 can be used to increase the installed power in multi-room installations, receiving the audio signal as a four-channel bus on just a single CAT5 cable (with local stereo input alternative). Routing to power outputs can easily be configured via a DIP switch, while configuration can also be carried out using RDNet. DMA units also have a line output for a subwoofer. Expanding the features even further are the RC 401 Remote Control and the BM 404 Paging Console units in the series, which can be used in conjunction with any DMA units. The RC 401 Remote Control offers basic Volume Control and Source Select, while the BM 404 console can manage up to four zones, with up to four paging consoles connected in a daisy-chain fashion, interlocked.

The speakers in the RCF Business Music line feature an acoustic performance in line with the company's top-of-the-line audio products, adding multiple high-value industrial design features. The series includes the MF 33EN model, a ceiling speaker designed for recess installation in false ceilings or panels, and the WMF 33EN speaker for wall mount installation. Both units are high-quality devices for background music applications and future a the self-extinguishing EN54-24 certified cabinet, combined with highly intelligible voice reproduction to comply with voice-alarm and evacuation messages requirements.

RCF also added two Monitor speaker models to the series, the MR 40T and MR 50T, both 2-way bass reflex designs. These speakers are sold in pairs (in either white or black finishes), with special bracket solutions available for wall mounting, either individually or in clusters of four.

To complement its range of installation solutions to be presented at ISE 2020, RCF launched the Compact M series with five passive speakers models ranging from 5” to 12” woofer size, with a neutral design suitable for any environment, providing excellent acoustic performance for both background and foreground music, on its own or reinforced with the 10-inch SUB S 10 and the 12-inch SUB S 12 subwoofers, both delivering output power normally achievable with larger cabinets.

The RCF booth at ISE 2020 will also feature RDNet compatible VSA II Vertical Steerable Array speaker models, with improved quality for highly reverberant spaces.
