Pioneer Pro Audio Adds New Surface Mount CM Series Speakers

December 16 2020, 00:35
A new high-quality sound solution, with flexible installation options and perfect for all spaces – even outdoors - was added by Pioneer Pro Audio to its Commercial Monitor (CM) Series. The speaker range expanded to include four new units: a 10-inch CM-510ST subwoofer, and the IP54-rated 4-inch CM-S54T, 6-inch CM-S56T and 8-inch CM-S58T surface-mount loudspeakers, all with carefully designed features and specifications.

Since Pioneer Pro Audio launched its XY Series loudspeakers, installers have told the brand they would like to see smaller speakers added to the portfolio to enable turnkey installations at a wider variety of venues. Nightclubs, bars, shops, offices, hotels and restaurants are just some of the environments where more discreet boxes are needed. And, in areas such as corridors, bathrooms and VIP zones, nightclub installations also often require sound in tight spaces where large units are unnecessary or can’t be accommodated.

Drawing on the brand's club loudspeaker manufacturing heritage, the new two-way CM-S54T, CM-S56T and CM-S58T speakers, complemented with the compact CM-510ST subwoofer are new versatile options selected to fulfill those needs and produce premium-quality audio. Available in black or white, these new units are perfect for discreet installation in a variety of spaces where reliability is crucial, and the loudspeakers can even be used for some applications outdoors.

These affordable new arrivals in the Pioneer CM Series include a host of features including transformer taps – ideal when a professional and adaptable fixed installation solution is required. The new speakers can also be controlled by Powersoft’s recently released ArmoníaPlus 2.0 software. This powerful software tool enables integrators to assemble systems in simpler, more effective ways as it eliminates the need for an external matrix and reduces the number of cable runs in many applications. Everything can be easily controlled via a mobile app that you can use to adjust the sound in different zones.

Key features of the new Pioneer CM-S54T, CM-S56T and CM-S58T full-range speakers include the use of newly developed 1-inch soft dome tweeters to deliver short-throw high-definition high frequencies, combined with the newly developed Vortex Bass Accelerator design, a bass-reflex port constructed with ribs to ensure that air flows without distortion, to maximize low frequencies and eliminate any unwanted vibrations. The wide conical dispersion designs of the full-range units, allows deploying fewer boxes. The range includes the CM-S54T that disperses at 120x120°, while the CM-S56T model covers 110x110° and the CM-S58T at 100x100°.

Built-in transformer taps in all CM-S Series speakers provide flexible impedance options for installations using 70V/100V line systems. And the CM-S54T, CM-S56T and CM-S58T speakers are all IP54 rated. The CM-S speakers' unique cabinet shape - neither square or round- and tough plastic enclosures with included protective terminal cover enables the use even in some outdoor areas. Rigid notches inside the U bracket make it easy to adjust the direction of the sound, and there are 60mm pitched holes on the rear of the speakers to fit them into challenging spaces.

With a unique set of features, the Pioneer CM-510ST installation subwoofer delivers punchy bass with low distortion thanks to its implementation of the Kelton design method, which extracts bass sound from a speaker by acoustically cutting out mid-to-high-range sounds. This is achieved by emitting the sound from a duct in a chassis sealed to the front and back of the unit. In the CM-510ST design, the Vortex Bass Accelerator filters out unwanted mid and high-range frequencies and delivers cleaner bass with a quick response.

And even though it produces a large, rich bass sound, the technology inside the CM-510ST is packed into a 50-lt box that saves space and fits discreetly into any location. Useful M8 holes make it easy to position the sub and its possible to fix it to the floor, wall or ceiling - according to the best sound coverage. An impedance of 8 ohms gives high and low impedance options the the subwoofer, enables installers to deploy two subwoofers on one-amp channel, and create a perfect solution for a single-amp installation.
