Available in mono or stereo, Magnatone's line amplifiers, feature true pitch shifting vibrato and can trace its on-stage lineage to the very origins of rock. The complete line of Magnatone amplifiers incorporates the same vibrato circuitry first patented in 1957 — with silicon carbide varistors and vacuum tubes — to achieve the "True Dimensional Sound" for which Magnatone is famous. Magnatone was established in Los Angeles, California in 1937 and manufactured a diverse range of vacuum-based music products until closing in 1969. The company was relaunched in 2013 and now sells its American-made amplifiers worldwide.The new Lyric features a Magnatone custom 12-inch ceramic magnet speaker and a single-ended 6L6, Class A power tube which delivers 10 watts and a big bottle tube sound. A Negative Feedback Switch (NFB) provides settings of gain and harmonics by restructuring the power amp gain providing fuller tone. Volume and tone controls are extremely accurate. The Lyric is available in black or burgundy faux crocodile covering made of 100% cotton.
The Lyric - US MAP of $1,699 - was previewed at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) trade show in January 2017 and is now available from retailers worldwide. The Magnatone brand is proudly celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2017.
