Focusrite Introduces ISA 828 MkII, ISA ADN2 and ISA ADN8 with Dante

Focusrite Pro showed its full range of Dante-enabled Audio-over-IP interfaces in a dedicated booth during NAMM 2020, where dedicated solutions specialists were on hand to answer any networking questions. For this edition of the Anaheim show, Focusrite announced three new products in the ISA range that bring the classic Focusrite sound to Dante Audio-over-IP networks: The ISA 828 MkII Eight-Channel Mic Preamp, and the  ISA ADN2 and ADN8 A/D cards.

The eight-channel ISA 828 MkII ($2,699.99 MAP) features the same transformer-based input stage, complete with the Lundahl LL1538 transformer, as its predecessor. New, however, is compatibility with Dante Audio-over-IP networks, facilitated by the optional ISA ADN8 A-D card, which offers high-quality A-D conversion to Dante, ADAT and AES3 at sampling rates of up to 24-bit/192kHz. Also new is an updated power supply that allows for more efficient power consumption, a reduction in heat generation, and extremely reliable operation. The front panel remains unchanged, with six-step metering on each channel, and front-panel instrument inputs for channels 1-4.

The Focusrite ISA ADN8 ($659.99) is an optional A-D card for the ISA 828 MkII and ISA 428 MkII. It provides ADAT Optical, AES3 and Dante connectivity at rates up to 24-bit/192kHz. The card offers primary and secondary RJ45 Dante output ports, an AES59-configured DB25 connector for AES3 output, and a pair of TOSLINK connectors for ADAT output. Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.

The final new introduction is the ISA ADN2 ($499.99), an optional two-channel 24-bit/192kHz A-D card that provides high-quality analogue-to-digital conversion for the ISA One mic preamp and DI. The card offers primary and secondary RJ45 Dante output ports, an XLR connector for AES3 output, a TOSLINK connector for ADAT output and RCA connector for S/PDIF output. Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.

RedNet Control and Dante Controller software allow Dante routing and control from a computer; no hardware patching required.

During NAMM 2020, Focusrite also announced an extension to its standard limited warranty, which comes with all new products from the Focusrite, Focusrite Pro and Novation divisions. Effective on purchases from January 1, 2018, onwards — the warranty period is 36 months from the date of the original purchase.

The Focusrite Group is now composed of the brands Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation, Ampify Music (software and sounds) and ADAM Audio.
