Dirac Takes Sudio E2 TWS Earbuds a Step Further with Virtuo Spatial Audio

Swedish digital audio processing pioneer Dirac and Sudio, the Swedish consumer electronics design house, announced a collaboration on Sudio’s new flagship E2 true wireless stereo earbuds, featuring Dirac Virtuo spatial audio. Founded in 2012, Sudio sits firmly at the center of Sweden’s visionary audio tech scene, and this collaboration with Dirac for the cutting-edge Sudio E2 earphones reflects the companies’ unrivaled strengths in combining breakthrough sound performance and elevated product design.

"The new E2 earphones look amazing and produce rich, immersive, high-performance sound – raising the bar significantly on headphone audio experiences," says Lars Isaksson, Dirac’s Head of Business Development, Streaming & Headphones. "This is just the beginning of a long and rich collaboration between two Swedish audio innovators. We look forward to further pushing the envelope of design-plus-performance as our companies continue revolutionizing sound together."

The new Sudio E2 TWS earbuds include a dual-core chipset with embedded Dirac Virtuo solution so users can enjoy spatial audio from stereo content regardless of playback device or media player. Featuring Sudio’s trademark minimalist design, the E2 earphones were created for early adopters of innovative technology who also value premium experiences.

"Dirac Virtuo makes listening to music like sitting in the studio with the artists themselves," says Sudio CEO Johan Gawell, "The audio just comes to life, with richer detail and an immersive soundstage. With Dirac Virtuo included in the Sudio E2 earphones, consumers can hear music the way the musicians and producers intended it to be heard."

Dirac Virtuo for Bluetooth earphones employs a high-resolution binaural room impulse response technology so that sound seemingly comes from a pair of premium stereo speakers in front of the listener, rather than from inside their head, creating a soundstage previously unattainable. It also uses Dirac’s patented magnitude response correction technology to remove unintended resonances or sound colorations caused by the headphones themselves. The result is an immersive audio experience; a more accurate stereo soundstage; and significantly better, more balanced, and richly detailed sound quality.

"Sudio is all about immersive sound experiences, and we always strive to outdo ourselves. Many brands slap on an audio codec and claim the sound is better, but we believe that truly great sound needs more care and intention," says Sudio Head of Product Tobias Alvbäck. "We share this belief with Dirac, and we appreciate their thorough, scientific, data-driven approach to actually improving sound quality rather just hoping to."

Apart from offering Dirac Virtuo processing, the new Sudio E2 earbuds feature hybrid noise cancellation and bleeding-edge, beamforming directional microphones for the best possible performance. The new design supports both wireless charging and quick charging and comes with liquid silicone ear tips that have been tested extensively to guarantee a universal fit.

The Sudio E2 earphones are now available on Sudio.com.
