September 3 2019, 00:20
Creative Technology will be showcasing its latest range of audio solutions at IFA 2019 (September 5-11). Spanning categories from high-performance headphones and true wireless earbuds to portable speakers and high-resolution sound cards, Creative will be featuring a diverse portfolio of products at its booth, including exclusive previews of the first Sound Blaster with Super X-Fi processing and what the company calls its best Super X-Fi headphones yet, the new Super X-Fi Theater Headphones.

The new Sound Blaster X3 will be the first to feature Creative's Super X-Fi processing chip, expanding its range of solutions now addressing directly personal audio entertainment and gaming platforms. The Sound Blaster audio revolution began with the creation of the first Sound Blaster 1.0 sound card in 1989, when it transformed PC audio forever. Since then, over 400 million Sound Blasters have been sold, with the brand etching several milestones in sound card development.

That ethos continues today with the latest Sound Blaster X3, with the new breakthrough being its Super X-Fi technology. Super X-Fi processing recreates the soundstage of a surround speaker system in headphones, and personalizes it for a natural listening experience. During the IFA 2019 presentations, users will be able to experience the technology, which earned 15 best-of awards at CES 2019, through its headphone output.

The new Sound Blaster X3 also personifies the best of Sound Blaster's renowned digital processing technologies in an external sound card. Besides having Super X-Fi technology built in, it is a high-resolution, 7.1 multi-channel USB DAC, offering 32-bit/192kHz playback, and features a headphone amplifier capable of driving studio-grade headphones.

Also featuring Dolby Digital Live encoding for connecting optically to external receivers for multi-channel audio on speakers, the latest Sound Blaster X3 will appeal as an audio accessory for the ultimate movie experience. In terms of connectivity, the solution offers cross-platform compatibility for PC, Mac, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, it is supported by the new Sound Blaster Command software for desktops, and includes a corresponding mobile app to save console users the hassle of switching to desktops for control and customization.

Super X-Fi Theater Headphones
Another standout highlight for Creative at IFA 2019 will be its Creative SXFI Theater wireless headphones, optimized for Super X-Fi reproduction, which the Taiwan company calls "holography," since it provides an audio experience like what can be experienced at a real cinema.

Creative's Super X-Fi technology recreates the soundstage of a multi-speaker surround system that can rival a real cinema, and personalizes it by scanning the user's head and ears, so that the custom-fit audio experience becomes natural like never before. The processed experience not only offers an ideal reproduction with the user always positioned in the ‘sweet spot' and, unlike at the cinema, allows users to tweak the volume to their own liking - trivial yet essential!

What makes it stand out even more is its proprietary 2.4 GHz digital wireless audio transmission, with five times less latency than a Bluetooth transmission – translating to truly seamless audio and video sync for users. The transmission is performed via SXFI TX, a wireless transmitter USB dongle which accompanies the headphone. The effective distance of 10m can be extended through a supplied USB extension dock with a 1.2m-long cable. The headphones also offer up to 30 hours of battery life, which is amongst the best for wireless headphones.

At the heart of the SXFI Theater are 50mm Neodymium drivers, tuned to deliver audio optimized to provide cinematic bass, while the soft and high-quality protein leather earcups provide a highly comfortable fit and are changeable. With gaming in its DNA, the Theater headphones are fitted with a detachable gaming microphone which has been engineered for clear communications, making it an excellent headphone choice for gamers who favor an immersive wireless gaming experience in game titles with cinematic audio.

The Super X-Fi Theater Headphones will appeal to anyone wishing to enjoy the best experiences in movie and gaming, on PC, Mac, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Creative's booth at IFA 2019 features a purpose built space for demo sessions with Super X-Fi Theater Headphones, where users will also be able to experience Creative's most advanced PCI-e sound card, the Sound Blaster AE-9, the new Outlier Gold true wireless earbuds with 14 hours of battery life per charge, the MUVO Play waterproof speaker with stereo wireless link, and the new T100 premium Hi-fi 2.0 desktop speaker system.

The Creative booth at IFA 2019 is located at Messe Berlin, Hall 3.2, Stand 209.
