Celestion Introduces The SpeakerMix Pro Plug-in Featuring New Dynamic Speaker Responses

November 23 2020, 02:10
Celestion launched SpeakerMix Pro, a self-contained studio-grade DAW plug-in dedicated to bringing ground-breaking levels of detail and realism to guitar and bass speaker tone. The new plug-in can be used with Impulse Responses as well as the company’s new Dynamic Speaker Responses (DSRs), the next generation of digital speaker responses that capture the sound and feel of the speaker’s dynamic, non-linear response for even more tonal detail.

Over the past few years, Celestion Impulse Responses have become the go-to speaker emulation solution in the studios and on live rigs of many top professional guitarists, bassists and music producers. Guitar cabinet digital emulations are now recognized by both musicians and audio engineers and are praised from the flexibility, quality and above all consistency they afford. It started with circuit emulations of the actual amplifiers, reverberations and effects units, and now it expanded to the impulse responses of the actual speaker tones.

The new Celestion SpeakerMix Pro plug-in is much more than just a top-level IR loader and convolution engine for hosting impulse responses - it offers pristine sound, mixes up to six channels of different IRs into a stereo or mono track and even fixes IR sample rate/project mismatches. Additionally, as the host program for the new Celestion Dynamic Speaker Responses, SpeakerMix Pro presents a genuine next-generation virtual speaker solution.

With SpeakerMix Pro, users can mix up to six responses together to create their perfect and unique guitar or bass speaker sound, and even integrate a personal library of Celestion and third-party Impulse Responses to make the most of the tools they’ve spent time and effort curating. Users are also able to add Celestion's superb room responses (or incorporate their own) into the mix for an authentic "live" sound, and deploy the unique Z-curve function to closely model the dynamic electrical coupling between amp and speaker.

Even interesting for developers, guitar amp manufacturers and audio engineers in general, Celestion's new proprietary Dynamic Speaker Responses (DSRs) are a next generation implementation of Impulse Response technology. The new DSRs add a new dimension of sound and feel with stunningly accurate guitar tones that also capture the sound and feel of the speaker’s dynamic, non-linear response for even more detail and realism.

And with Celestion's new DSRs, users can also play with ability to fine-tune the mic position, enabling to adjust the position of the microphone across the speaker until they have found the tone that works best.

SpeakerMix Pro is a software plug-in available for VST, AU and AAX compatible DAWs. Celestion is offering the SpeakerMix Pro plug-in at a special introductory price here, and to get each user started with the featured Dynamic Speaker Responses, the first ten DSRs are free with the plug-in purchase.
