Celestion Debuts the Peacekeeper Attenuating Speaker Technology for Guitar at NAMM 2025

Celestion is going to the 2025 NAMM Show to introduce the Peacekeeper, a revolutionary, low-sensitivity, dual voice coil... attenuating speaker. The Peacekeeper offers guitarists and other amplified musicians a simple and effective way to dial in the coveted "sweet spot" on their amplifiers while still performing at modest volume levels and not disturb the neighborhood. The Peacekeeper will be on display, alongside a range of Celestion’s guitar and PA products at the company’s booth (Hall C, #6602).

Today, guitarists have many solutions to practice at maximum gain with the dynamics, distortion, and amplifier saturation as previously was only possible by blasting away a guitar amp at full volume. But those solutions have never integrated the transducer directly, where a lot of the electric guitar tone resides.

The new Celestion Peacekeeper disrupts the conventional limitation of great amplifiers that typically only open up and sound their best when played at high decibel levels addressing this challenge with its unique dual voice coil design. The Peacekeeper will work seamlessly with almost any amplifier, like a conventional guitar speaker, but it’s in-built attenuating technology will significantly reduce output sensitivity. This enables musicians to drive their amplifiers harder while maintaining manageable volume levels.

The Peacekeeper’s innovative design effectively attenuates the amplifier’s output, compared with conventional speakers,  allowing players to achieve their desired sound at lower volumes. Attenuation is achieved “organically” through the natural operation of the loudspeaker, enabling the Peacekeeper to preserve the Celestion tone that musicians love: the attenuation process adds no coloration or compromise.
With its 12” diameter, the Peacekeeper seamlessly integrates with any standard cabinet, offering a hassle-free solution for volume control. Offering 8Ω impedance and a maximum power rating of 50W, the Peacekeeper is suitable for pairing with a wide range of amplifiers. Celestion Peacekeeper drivers are assembled at the company’s UK-based loudspeaker research and manufacturing facility, and rigorously tested to meet exacting performance criteria.

“Until today, many guitar players have been limited by the volume constraints of their environment, whether it’s avoiding disturbing someone else in their household, or keeping the peace with neighbours,” commented Nigel Wood, Managing Director at Celestion. “The Peacekeeper empowers guitarists to unlock the true sonic potential of their amplifiers without worrying about the volume.”
