Audio-Technica Releases Affordable ATH-M20xBT Wireless Headphones

Audio-Technica released the Bluetooth wireless version of its ATH-M20x headphones, the entry-level model in the M-Series, delivering the same over-ear experience with the same sonic signature as the professional wired studio model. Adding wireless convenience benefits to the acclaimed M-Series collection is both an opportunity and a big risk for Audio-Technica, requiring matching the same linear audio response and enhanced bass, while adding best-in-class battery life.

Like Audio-Technica already did with the larger ATH-M50xBT2 (now in its second generation), the fundamental design for the ATH-M20xBT remains the same as the wired model, while featuring the latest Bluetooth 5 radio with AAC codec support. Constructed with professional-grade earpads and headband material, the lighter ATH-M20xBT is built for long-lasting durability and comfort. With a 60-hour long battery life on a full charge and up to three hours on a 10-minute rapid charge (via USB-C connection), the ATH-M20xBT is designed for endless hours of audio and multimedia use.

The powerful 40mm drivers deliver an enhanced low-frequency performance for engaging audio and video streaming. In addition, users can appreciate the ease of controlling calls, music playback, and volume with the microphone and buttons built into the left ear cup. The ATH-M20xBT offers expansive audio with excellent sound isolation in loud environments.

While these headphones provide the convenience of a Bluetooth wireless connection for any device, they also allow a wired connection when needed and come with a 1.2m cable with mini-jack (3.5mm). When on Bluetooth, the multipoint pairing promises the capability to seamlessly connect to two devices at once. In addition, users can enjoy the low latency mode to improve synchronicity between audio and video for both smooth streaming and gaming.

The ATH-M20xBT wireless over-ear headphones are available with an MSRP of $79.00, which is significantly less than the ATH-M50xBT2 ($199) while offering improved battery life (+10 hours). Hard to beat, particularly for those who already recognize and appreciate Audio-Technica headphones.
