German audio meter and monitoring specialist RTW attended both the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2015 and Prolight+Sound 2015 in the same week. At both shows, RTW introduced its new Mastering Tools Plug-In with extensive analysis and display functions, as well as the new TM3-Primus USB TouchMonitor.
RTW introduced its new Mastering Tools plug-in for loudness, level, audio analysis and mono-to-7.1 measurement at Musikmesse/Prolight+Sound 2015, in Frankfurt, Germany, as well as the 2015 NAB Show in Las Vegas, NV. The second plug-in in RTW’s Masterclass PlugIns series of software-based metering solutions, the Mastering Tools is an ideal tool for music, radio and audio/video producers and engineers.
Designed for simple, intuitive operation by a broader user base, the new Mastering Tools plug-in brings extensive analysis and display functions for mastering, metering and loudness measurement for single- and up to eight-channel applications. Available as a standard-format plug-in for Windows and Mac OS platforms, it also offers a wide range of PPM scales, displays and TruePPM measurements.
The RTW Masterclass Mastering Tools plug-in is part of the company’s continued efforts to provide access to high-quality audio metering and measurement to a wider market. As such, it supports leading global loudness standards, including ITU BS.1770-3/1771-1, ATSC A/85, EBU R128, ARIB, OP-59, AGICOM and CALM Act. Other key features include numerical or bar graph-type readout, MagicLRA and correlator display, audio vectorscope, RTA (Real Time Analyzer), SSA (Surround Sound Analyzer) and multi-correlator. For added convenience, users can choose from up to six selectable window frame sizes and multiple instances.
New TM3-Primus USB TouchMonitor
RTW also introduced its compact and low-cost TM3-Primus USB TouchMonitor. The world’s first USB audio meter, this latest addition to the award-winning TouchMonitor line is a unique RCA-type two-channel analog and digital (SPDIF) loudness and level meter that meets worldwide standards.
Designed for workstations, edit suites, musicians and small site operations, the TM3-Primus includes vectorscope, RTA, chart and monitoring capabilities. Its touch screen allows vertical and horizontal operation, while its advanced USB hybrid mode enables DAW metering points to be visualized and processed directly on the TouchMonitor’s screen. The TM3-Primus is suited for professional use in minor or secondary workflows for broadcast, video editing, music and other recording environments, as well as non-commercial use in radio or podcasting environments.
Similar to RTW’s TM3 TouchMonitor, the TM3-Primus comes with a highly intuitive and user-friendly 4.3” touch screen interface with a full set of easy-to-read instruments for level and loudness metering that can be used by even the least experienced operators.
Supported loudness standards include: ITU BS.1770-3/1771-1, ATSC A/85, EBU R128, ARIB, OP-59, AGICOM and CALM. The TM3-Primus includes level and loudness display with bargraph type or numerical readout, plus MagicLRA type. Other instruments included with the meter are PPM, moving coil, correlator, RTA, vectorscope, numerical and chart.
