New York lifestyle audio brand, Master & Dynamic, has partnered with Italian company Alcantara to introduce new versions of its popular MH40 Over Ear and MH30 On Ear Headphones. Alcantara is a unique eco-friendly and highly durable luxury material with great possibilities for replacing leather, suede and velvet, allowing for a combination of sensory, aesthetic and functional values.

New York City-based audio company, Master & Dynamic, combines sound and creativity in new lifestyle-oriented products, always exploring innovative materials with great attention to aesthetics and functionality. Their latest MH40 Over Ear and MH30 On Ear Headphones are designed to be modern tools for mobile users wishing to stand out from the crowd.

As the company states, “Sound is a catalyst and a powerful creative element. We see our headphones as modern thinking caps: tools to help focus, inspire and transport your mind. We build sound tools for creative minds.” Master & Dynamic headphones seek a natural, detailed, sound signature, tuned to complement a diversity of tastes and musical genres. The company also crafts all the essential functions and practical details into the designs, like separating the microphone from the remote for increased vocal clarity.

Master & Dynamic also engineers products to last, utilizing heavy-duty materials such as premium leathers and stainless steel, designing all parts to be easily replaceable and durable. With a particular attention to materials, maintaining the perfect balance of aesthetics, strength, comfort and utility, the company recently added a new collection of headphones for the winter holidays with special versions of its MH40 and MH30 headphones using Alcantara material that feels like suede. Alcantara materials are certified carbon-neutral and can have multiple finishes and textures. They are extensively used in the fields of fashion, interior, automotive, yachting, and aviation.

The MH40 Circum-aural model features 45mm neodymium high-performance drivers (32 ohms), combining Alcantara, stainless steel, aluminum and detachable woven cables, both in 2m standard and 1.25m remote and mic versions. The cups have an easily accessible mute button. Premium Alcantara material is used on headband exterior and interior surfaces, ear pads, and earcup insets, which contrasts beautifully with the stainless steel components in all high strain areas. The ear pads combine memory foam, wrapped in Alcantara, providing superior comfort and breathability, removable for cleaning or replacement.

The MH30 Alcantara model are foldable supra-aural headphones, using 40mm neodymium drivers (32 ohms) in a lighter (260g) construction, also featuring Premium Alcantara, stainless steel, aluminum and the same two detachable woven cables. The MH30 was designed to be a more mobile “thinking cap” with Alcantara material on headband exterior and interior surfaces, ear pads, and earcup insets. All metals have anodized finish or PVD (physical vapor deposition) coated for superior durability.

These Alcantara edition headphones offer a new take on Master & Dynamic’s existing gunmetal/black color selection and add to the company’s rapidly growing product line. Partnering with Alcantara S.p.A., allowed Master & Dynamic to explore the unique material’s benefits, adding durability and stain resistance to help meet the brand’s commitment to long-term durability. The material covers the headband, ear cups, and ear pads, with the added benefit of keeping the ears warm.

The new gunmetal/black Alcantara editions of the MH40 Over Ear and MH30 On Ear headphones are available at specialty sound and retail stores across North America and are available online for $399 and $329, respectively.

Alcantara is registered trademark of Alcantara S.p.A., founded in 1972, and the result of a unique and proprietary technology, certified in terms of sustainability and respect for the environment.
