Celestion Unveils New 4 Ohm CF1840H Cast Frame Low Frequency Driver
December 28 2015, 03:00
Among several new products scheduled for unveiling at the forthcoming Winter NAMM 2016 show, Celestion announced it will extend its next generation CF range of high-end ferrite magnet professional audio loudspeakers with a new 4 Ohm CF1840H cast frame model. The new 1000W LF driver features long throw and high sensitivity with superior cooling features.
Celestion will introduce the latest addition to their premium CF series of ferrite magnet, cast aluminum chassis professional audio LF loudspeakers at the Winter NAMM 2016 show in Anaheim. Available in 4Ω impedance, CF1840H features a 4”/100mm multi-layer voice coil, for superior cooling to provide 1000W RMS (AES standard) power handling and 98dB sensitivity.
Delivering long throw (Xmax) as well as high sensitivity, the new CF1840H is designed to be a multi-purpose LF driver offering superior performance when used in a reflex, horn-loaded or band pass subwoofer; while being equally at home as a bass unit in a large multi-way system.
CF1840H features Celestion’s proprietary BAV (Balanced Airflow Venting) to provide enhanced magnet assembly cooling, further improving performance by minimizing thermal compression.
Developed at Celestion’s headquarters in Ipswich, England, all CF series loudspeakers are designed using specialist FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modeling techniques, enabling the Celestion engineering team rapidly to achieve genuine increases in performance, including greater efficiency, and exceptionally low harmonic distortion.
