The conference organizing board consists of members of the AES Technical Committee on Acoustics and Sound Reinforcement, including, among others, Arica Rust, Manuel Melon, Adam Hill, Elena Shabalina, Marcel Kok, Hannah Goodine, Etienne Corteel, David Williams, Peter Mapp, Eddy Bøgh Brixen, and Pierrick Lotton. The event will be hosted at and is being developed in partnership with Le Mans University, which is home to one of the European Union’s largest acoustical labs.
Scott Sugden, Director of Product Management at L-Acoustics, will give the keynote presentation on the first day of the conference, offering attendees a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between sound and audience engagement. L-Acoustics will present five papers and three workshops on a wide array of topics that include: groove perception in large immersive installations; main/sub summation quality; resonance perception in Ambiance; and loudspeaker system radiation estimation. L-Acoustics will also use the opportunity to promote the dedicated Milan AVB audio networking protocol.
Attendees of the AES International Acoustics and Sound Reinforcement Conference will also be able to enjoy the Le Mans Sonore festival. Curated by Radio France, Le Mans Sonore is a cultural event open to the public that combines science and culture in a unique way. At the crossroads of music, design, contemporary art and research, Le Mans Sonore is an echo of the acoustic expertise of Le Mans and will feature a 600-seat immersive auditorium with a 360° L-ISA immersive configuration of 12 Syva with 12 Syva Low, 13 X8 and four KS21 subwoofers, installed by L-Acoustics Certified Partner NT Event. AES attendees will be able to attend two different immersive audio workshops led by L-Acoustics and taking place in the immersive auditorium. "This AES conference holds a special place in my heart," states Arica Rust. "I first attended the same conference in 2017 in Denmark to elevate my own level of audio knowledge as a freelancer. It was there I met Etienne Corteel, who is now my manager, and my colleague François Montignies. I was able to exchange with some of the most top-level scientific minds of the industry. The event left quite an impression on me at the time and I’m excited to pay that feeling forward to the students coming to attend this conference. At L-Acoustics, we are proud to support the conference in Le Mans to bring together the brightest minds of the current and the next generation of science and technology to help shape the future of sound."
