Neumann expanded its successful KH line of studio monitors with its first midfield model: the KH 420. This active 3-way system (10”+3”+1”) is ideal for larger 5.1 and 7.1 configurations and listening distances of up to 11 meters. With a corner frequency of 26 Hz, the KH 420 midfield monitor sets new standards in its class for low frequency performance. It also launched the KH 310D with extra digital inputs and delay features.

Avid Encourages Pro Tools Users to Upgrade Now To Get Cloud Support and Next Year’s Upgrades
Avid has embarked in a completely new product architecture for its audio, video and newsroom solutions, which basically requires that all users get connected with cloud services to take advantage of what the company calls Avid Everywhere. To encourage its user base to follow the company’s vision, Avid is promoting new licensing for Pro Tools, giving access to future cloud features and software upgrades through March 2016.

Studer Implements AES67 Integration via Digigram Interface
Harman’s Studer announced AES67 integration for its Infinity Core mixing engine, which drives the company’s flagship Vista X and Vista V digital audio consoles. AES67 compatibility makes Studer’s Infinity Core the first x86-based AoIP core, incorporating standard off-the-shelf IT components and a Linux operating system. The implementation is based on Digigram’s LX-IP AES67 PCIe Sound Card.
