Another year, another new owner for Martin Audio, which is about to break the record for the most sold, bought and bought-out pro audio company ever. This time, in another example of the Good 'Ol Boy Network in action, Focusrite plc., which comprises the Focusrite, ADAM Audio, Novation and Ampify Music brands, announced the acquisition of Martin Audio Ltd and associated companies.

Audio Media Research Acquires ReValver Guitar Amplifier Modeling from Peavey
Audio Media Research (AMR), the company originally founded by Hartley Peavey as a research and development branch of Peavey Electronics, announced the acquisition of the ReValver guitar amplifier modeling software line from Peavey Electronics. AMR is now a stand-alone entity focused on audio software and digital signal processing for the music creation market, specializing in sound emulation with tube, circuit and component level modeling.

Redefining the Shape of Sound: Resonado Introduces Flat Core Speaker Technology at CES 2020
Resonado, a South Bend, Indiana company founded at the University of Notre Dame, has a new take on electrodynamic speaker topology. The company developed a reconfigured speaker with a planar voice coil mounted perpendicularly to its flat “race track” diaphragm, to which Resonado calls Flat Core Speaker (FCS) technology. The ingenious architecture enables slightly thinner, lighter, and more efficient speakers than conventional equivalents. Applications are wide-ranging from soundbars, home theater, column speakers, automotive to headphone drivers.
