And Vance Dickason welcomes two new companies - LaVoce from Italy and Oberton from Bulgaria - to Test Bench. LaVoce submitted the 1” DF10.172K compression driver, while Oberton sent the ND72CT/HB 1.4” Hybrid Dome compression driver.

New 2018 Drivers from Eminence Speaker

Among the several products introduced at this year’s NAMM Show, Eminence confirmed a series of new drivers already scheduled for 2018. From small format pro audio devices to a 15” neodymium guitar speaker, Eminence has expanded its lineup of audio solutions for a wide array of applications. New Eminence drivers for 2018 include the Alpha 2-8, and Alpha 5-8 for compact pro audio applications, the APT30 horn loaded tweeter, SD28 soft-dome tweeter, and F151M-8 ring radiator compression driver.

Test Bench: Two Beryllium Tweeters from Scan-Speak - D3004-604010 and the D3004-604000

In this edition of Voice Coil's Test Bench we review two beryllium dome tweeters from Scan-Speak. These two new beryllium diaphragm neodymium motor tweeters, the D3004/604010 and the D3004/604000, basically share the same platform, with the major difference being the D3004/604010 has a lower Fs due to the larger rear cavity. As audioXpress anticipated, SB Acoustics (a brand of Sinar Baja Electric) introduced several new products for 2016, including the brand’s flagship TW29BN high-end beryllium dome tweeter, part of the Satori top performing driver range. The new range, all designed in Denmark and manufactured in Indonesia, also includes new midrange and midwoofer drivers using new proprietary cones made with Egyptian Papyrus fibers, available in 5” to 9.5” sizes.

LaVoce Introduces Two New Ferrite Low Frequency Drivers for Small Enclosures

LaVoce introduced two new ferrite subwoofer drivers intended for the installation market and small enclosures, including a new 10” SSF102.40 shallow mounting subwoofer with a total mounting depth of less than 4” (10cm) using a 2.4” voice coil. The 8” SSF082.00L is a new powerful long throw subwoofer with a 2” voice coil.
