MXL Microphones is marking its 20th year with special edition gold and pearl white versions of three of their most popular microphones: the Genesis SE Tube, R144 SE Ribbon, and 2001 SE Condenser. The special edition microphones retain all the characteristics of the original mics of the same names.

Wathen Speakers introduced its new Wathen CryoTone Tubes at the Summer NAMM 2014 in Nashville. According to the company, Wathen CryoTone tubes use a cryogenic treatment process that is specifically designed to maximize sonic performance in tubes, expanding its dynamic range, while also increasing its reliability.

The new Yellow Jackets NOS (New Old Stock) Tube Converter, designed with an NOS 6AQ5 seven-pin miniature beam power tube, is a limited edition converter made for use in most amplifiers under 100 watts and using 6L6, EL34, 7027 or 6V6 output tubes. The converter lowers the overall power in an amplifier and gives that amp a unique vintage tone.

Universal Audio announced the release of its new Thermionic Culture Vulture Plug-In for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo audio interfaces. This is a circuit emulation of the legendary British-made Thermionic Culture“all-valve” boutique distortion hardware. Uncanny!
