L-Acoustics’ Holding Company, L-Group, Acquires CAMCO

L-Group, holding company of L-Acoustics, today announced the acquisition of CAMCO, the manufacturer of high-end amplified controllers, DSP and audio network solutions for the professional audio industry. L-Acoustics traditionally worked in close partnership with German company CAMCO to complement its sound reinforcement and touring solutions. The acquisition will enable closer integration of active and networked systems.

Set to raise the standard of DAW-based recording set-ups, the BLUEBOX range of Workstation Interface Recorders is officially launching from JoeCo at IBC 2016. The new range combines a superior multi-channel USB 2.0 DAW interface with high quality preamps on every channel, with the reliability of JoeCo’s range of 24-bit/96kHz Blackbox Recorders, used as on-board backup recording, or as a stand-alone, live, multi-channel audio acquisition recorder connected to a DAW for live mixdown.

German professional audio equipment manufacturer d&b audiotechnik GmbH announced that Ardian, an independent private investment company, is acquiring the company from previous owners, investment companies Odewald & Compagnie and COBEPA. The move intends to support d&b audiotechnik’s international growth strategy as defined by existing management, which also gets a stake in the company.

Allen & Heath has launched new Chrome Editions of its Qu series compact digital mixers to mark the launch of Qu v1.8 Chrome firmware in mid-October, which adds major new features including Automatic Mic Mixing, a Spectrogram and additional monitor mixes. The Chrome refresh reaches the brand’s compact range, following a similar strategy announced for the GLD series earlier in 2015.

JBL Professional announced the launch of the VTX V25-II line array, featuring a brand-new waveguide for improved long-throw performance, improved wavefront control and improved power matching with the Crown I-Tech 4x3500HD 4-channel amplifier. Harman also announced its VTX V20-DF down fill adapter and the JBL HiQnet Performance Manager version 1.8.4, providing complete support for the new loudspeakers.

French sound reinforcement specialist NEXO (a business unit of Yamaha Corp since 2008) continues to surprise the market with new loudspeaker designs paying extreme attention to detail. Introduced during the Prolight+Sound 2015 show in Frankfurt, the new ID Series is available in install, touring and “a la carte” configurations.
