Voice Coil August 2024 Is Ready for You!

In this issue, Vance Dickason kicks off a series of outboard DSP processor reviews, starting with the Danville dspNexus. Next, Claus Futtrup writes about the Critically Damped Fourth-Order (CD4) bass reflex alignment. On Test Bench, Vance Dickason assesses the new B&C Speakers DH450-8 1" compression driver and the Stereo Integrity M3 3.5" carbon midrange driver.

This Test Bench addresses the Stereo Integrity TM65 mkIV High-Performance 6.5” woofer. Stereo Integrity is an interesting new company that is aiming at both home audio and automotive/mobility applications. Features for the unique TM65 mkIV include a black anodized aluminum cone and black anodized dust cap. Suspension is provided by a tall NBR surround plus a flat 105mm diameter Nomex spider with a linear roll configuration. Total depth of this driver with its proprietary frame and motor structure is a mere 58mm (2.28”).

Voice Coil March 2024 focuses on speaker enclosures with a unique directory of innovative material ideas, followed by an always insightful patent review, where James Croft revisits the pivotal Dinaburg invention. For Test Bench, this month Vance Dickason characterizes the SIG180-4 6.5” woofer from Dayton Audio’s Signature Series, and a midbass shallow-profile 6.5” driver, the Stereo Integrity TM65 mkIV.

Founded in 2001, Stereo Integrity is an OEM speaker driver manufacturer from North Carolina that also designs its own range of hi-fi amplifiers, sold directly to consumers online. The company sent its M25 mkII high-end tweeter, which features a 25mm silk dome diaphragm and surround, a dual-magnet neodymium motor, a black anodized aluminum motor housing with a tuned rear chamber, two-layer CCAW wound voice coil, and a compact 50mm diameter face plate with a steel anodized grill.
