The Audio Engineering Society Publishes New Standard Framework for 3D Audio

The Audio Engineering Society announced the recent publication of the AES69-2015 standard, which provides an important framework for the growing binaural and 3D personal audio industries. The standard, which describes the format and exchange of spatial acoustics files, is the product of the AES Standards Committee.

Recently approved by the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Standards Board for adoption as part of the organization’s standard portfolio, HDBaseT now reaches new heights. At the ISE 2015 show in Amsterdam there were more HDBaseT products than ever, addressing all market segments in the AV world. The HDBaseT Alliance confirmed availability of compliance testing specifications for Spec 2.0 of the HDBaseT Standard.

The OCA Alliance successfully made the case for Open Control Architecture at the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles. The OCA Alliance made considerable progress in promoting the benefits of its proposed standards-based control and monitoring architecture for networked audio devices employing any media transport protocol. AES project “AESX210” is currently working to render OCA into a ratified AES standard.
