Auricle Debuts Groundbreaking awareONE Open-Ears at CES 2025

Six years since its foundation and more than three years since a successful crowdfunding campaign that enabled the company's vision to proceed, Auricle will finally debut awareONE at CES 2025. A first-of-its-kind innovation in audio technology, combining multi-sensory sound with cutting-edge cartilage conduction, awareONE is a completely new approach to open-ear headphones. Due to its unique technology and implementation, Auricle opted to manufacture and assemble awareONE completely in Denmark.

To be unveiled at CES 2025 is a new example of a MEMS microspeaker company that now offers an integration with a MEMS microphone. SonicEdge, the startup that pioneered ultrasound MEMS drivers and has yet to enter the market, will present SonicTwin, an integrated speaker-microphone in a single package. Combining the company's patented modulated ultrasound technology that eliminates traditional mechanical vibrations, makes the integration with a microphone and sensors much easier with potential benefits also for ANC and lower-power in TWS earbuds and headphones.

Following earlier demonstrations at trade shows all over the world, Synaptics will showcase its Astra AI-Native processing and Veros intelligent connectivity offerings at CES 2025. Synaptics Astra AI-native platform showcases the advantages of purpose-built hardware paired with an open-source development framework, and intelligent connectivity to enable rapid development of context-aware connected devices.

AONDevices announced the launch of its AONix Edge AI sensor module, a new platform that addresses key challenges for battery-operated connected devices running artificial intelligence on the edge. Developed in collaboration with P-Logic Consulting and featuring sensor integration from TDK InvenSense, this compact 32mm x 32mm module is an energy-efficient platform with the ability to deliver real-time AI performance in always-on applications, particularly for consumer electronics.

Soundskrit unveiled its latest offerings: the SKM1600 and SKM2600 series microphone modules. In anticipation of the opportunity to present again its MEMS directional microphone solutions to manufacturers at CES 2025, and based on feedback received from the industry, Soundskrit’s is launching these microphone modules as a plug-and-play directional audio solution to build state-of-the-art audio capture into a variety of consumer electronics.

Underscoring the potential of solid-state MEMS microspeakers over-the-ear headphones, xMEMS Labs and Merry Electronics announced they will demonstrate a new production-ready reference design at CES 2025. Targeting both premium wireless over-the-ear headphones and gaming applications, Merry highlights xMEMS’ patented 2-way module architecture as a way to improve spatial audio accuracy and reduce weight for gamers, among other benefits.

InnoPhase IoT, a semiconductor company specializing in ultra-low power Wi-Fi, and GreenWaves Technologies, the company pioneering ultra-low power AI and DSP processors for hearables and connected devices, announced the development of a lossless audio reference design for Wi-Fi headphones. In collaboration with Danish pioneer IDUN Audio, InnoPhase and GreenWaves have created a platform that enables Spatial Audio for hearables and headphones with extended range and long battery life.
