Media Networking Alliance Expands With New Members to Promote AES67

Major broadcasters and manufacturers are among the latest members to join the Media Networking Alliance, recently formed by leading industry proponents, adopters, developers and suppliers of media networking technologies to promote adoption and support adopters of the newly ratified AES67 audio networking standard.

CSR commissioned a survey to understand the attitudes, habits and trends set to influence the design of home audio systems in the coming years. Audio buyers are becoming increasingly selective about what they want from their audio equipment but are manufacturers delivering on the needs of the market today and the wants of the future?

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.
