Sphere Entertainment Acquires Holoplot

Madison Square Garden (MSG), became a partner and shareholder of Holoplot GmbH in 2018, when the two companies partnered to implement the sound system that equipped the Sphere in Las Vegas. In 2023, MSG spun-off its traditional live entertainment businesses and created Sphere Entertainment. Now, Sphere Entertainment acquired all of the remaining Holoplot shares it did not previously own. The Berlin-based Wavefield Synthesis and 3D audio pioneer will continue to operate as a separate company.

Holoplot and AFMG Implement X1 and X2 Matrix Array In EASE 5

The inclusion of Holoplot products in the latest EASE 5 update, will allow users to investigate the possibilities and impact of using Matrix Arrays in any venue. Users of the popular electro- and room acoustic simulation software can now model Matrix Arrays and Beam Optimizations in the company's Plan system design software to view sound pressure level simulations. The resulting array configurations can now be exported to EASE 5 for further analysis based on closed-room simulation.

I returned from Barcelona, Spain, after five exhausting days, which were not easy for anyone in the audio industry who was forced to fly from the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA directly to Europe. I wrote this First Impressions ISE 2024 report in an effort to summarize this extremely well organized and successful event - celebrating the show's 20th anniversary.
