Texas Instruments (TI) introduced new integrated automotive chips to enable safer, more immersive driving experiences at any vehicle price point. A highly integrated automotive Arm-based microcontroller (MCU) and processor with TI’s vector-based C7x digital signal processor (DSP) core to achieve industry-leading processor performance. And TI’s new audio amplifier is the industry’s first with one-inductor (1L) modulation technology, allowing it to achieve Class-D performance with half the number of inductors.

Crestron Electronics announced Crestron Home OS 4 will debut at CEDIA Expo 2023 reinforcing the company's position in the global home automation market. The updated platform refines the smart home experience, showcasing a new look and feel with further personalization. Crestron Home OS 4 includes the ability for dealers to add almost any third-party lighting device to the system, and allows homeowners to do more without the need to call for assistance. Crestron is also introducing new DM NAX AoIP devices, including its first GaN multizone amplifier and more useful audio peripherals.

Eclipse Audio Updates FIR Designer M Software with auditionDSP Processor and Audio Player

Eclipse Audio has announced a major update of its FIR Designer M software tool for creating custom loudspeaker processing (IIR+FIR) filters and complete multichannel presets. Version 4 adds auditionDSP, a dynamic new digital signal processor and audio player that enables users to listen to their custom processing during the development process, rather than relying solely on visual plots. auditionDSP also allows different filtering options to be audibly compared by running processing for up to three loudspeaker presets simultaneously, in real-time, with live switching between presets.

Following a period of over a year working together in development, Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) has entered into a license agreement with Israel-based Silentium for automotive Active Road Noise Cancellation (ARNC) technology. Silentium’s Quiet Bubble software technology will be incorporated into one of AKM’s audio voice processors for distribution worldwide. Sample shipments are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

STMicroelectronics Intelligent Sensor Processing Unit Integrates DSP into MEMS Sensors

STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor company that is also a top manufacturer of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), announced the launch of its new Intelligent Sensor Processing Unit (ISPU) that combines a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) suited to run AI algorithms and MEMS sensor on the same silicon. By combining signal processing and AI algorithms onto MEMS sensors, ST enables standalone devices that are able to sense, process, and take action, while substantially saving space and power.
