Audio Engineering Society Promotes AES Europe Spring 2022 Convention

The AES Europe Spring 2022 (AES’s 152nd Convention) will feature both in-person and online events. The convention will take place May 7-8, at the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, Netherlands, and will be followed by an online technical program May 16-19, for those who cannot attend the real thing. The program for the convention will include a large focus on immersive audio, synthesis and effects.

Genelec has expanded its range of RAW recycled aluminum models to include the 8331 and 8341 three-way coaxial studio monitors from The Ones series. A proportion of each sale of these new RAW models will be donated to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) throughout the whole of 2022 by the active loudspeaker and professional monitoring specialist manufacturer from Finland.

AES Announces New AES75 Standard for Loudspeaker Performance Measurement

More than three years past since M-Noise was proposed as a new test signal for standardized measurement of a loudspeaker system’s maximum linear output, the Audio Engineering Society has announced the adoption and publication of AES75-2022, “AES standard for acoustics - Measuring loudspeaker maximum linear sound levels using noise.” The new standard addresses the need for a practical and cohesive procedure for the prediction of loudspeaker performance.
