Benchmark Media Systems, introduced their new HPA4 headphone and line amplifier at CanJam Global SoCal, (LA, April 7-8) and will be showing it again at Axpona (Chicago, April 13-15.) where Benchmark will be conducting personal listening demonstrations. For this new development, Benchmark partnered with THX in order to incorporate the THX Achromatic Audio Amplifier (AAA) technology, which Benchmark had already explored for its flagship AHB2 power amplifier.

THX Ltd., announced the THX Spatial Audio Platform using MPEG-H and jointly demonstrated by Qualcomm Technologies and THX for the first time at Mobile World Congress 2018. The THX Spatial Audio Platform is an end-to-end universal positional audio solution built with the flexibility to support emerging immersive content formats (object-based and ambisonics) and open standards, as well as legacy content, across mobile, PC and consumer electronic devices.

THX announced that Razer, a global lifestyle brand for gamers, has acquired the majority of the assets of THX Ltd., and brought onboard the management and employees of the company. THX will continue to operate as an independent entity under its own management and apart from the ongoing business of its parent company. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
