StreamUnlimited announced its new Stream805 module, developed in collaboration with Broadcom and Wistron, combining StreamSDK software and Google Cast to create faster turnaround time for audio manufacturers. StreamUnlimited also introduced the new Stream810 module, developed in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors as a high-end streaming device for flagship audio products, including low power portable units. This module is designed to meet THX performance standards.

StreamUnlimited, a provider of software solutions for connected audio products, announced new development modules for streaming audio applications making its international debut at IFA Global Markets from September 4th- 7th, and CEDIA 2016 from September 15th – 17th, begining production in October 2016.

Featuring StrataGX, an advanced Broadcom processor, and Wistron’s hardware/BSP development, Stream805 runs StreamUnlimited’s StreamSDK and Google Cast. This combination enables brands to quickly bring Google Cast into their product families, augmented with additional streaming audio features. Audio manufacturers can incorporate Stream805 into their audio products, allowing them to go to market more quickly and resourcefully by reducing product and software development times.

StreamSDK from StreamUnlimited is a software solution that transports any streaming audio functionality to multiple various consumer electronics devices including Internet radio and music services, UPnP/DLNA, Google Cast, USB, high resolution audio, BT, AirPlay, wireless and Ethernet, graphical user interface, Android and Apple iOS.

“We’re pleased to announce the debut of this robust, streaming module – the Stream805 – collaborating with Wistron and Broadcom,” says Frits Wittgrefe, chief executive officer for StreamUnlimited. “Over the last few months, we’ve worked closely and productively with Wistron and Broadcom to engineer Stream805, providing audio manufacturers with high-quality audio performance at a viable price point.”

“We have had a good collaboration with StreamUnlimited and Broadcom to design and develop Stream805. As designer and manufacturer, Wistron is excited to provide high-level service for audio manufacturers and brands with hardware design, RF evaluation, BSP development and audio system integration service,” says David Shen, President of Consumer & Smart Product Business Group of Wistron Corporation.

“Connected audio products, with overall shipments expected to top 100Mu by 2020, is an important target market for Broadcom,” says Dan Harding, VP Marketing for Broadcom, Ltd. “Our StrataGX BCM58300 processor family is an ideal solution for this market, with specialized audio hardware for wireless multi-room and multi-channel synchronization. By partnering with Wistron and StreamUnlimited we are able to deliver a turnkey connected audio system solution to our end customers.”

Stream810 for High-End Streaming Audio
StreamUnlimited also introduced its new Stream810 module, developed in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors as a high-end streaming device for flagship audio products, including low power portable units. In conjunction with NXP’s i.MX 7 Dual applications processor and a Marvell’s 2x2 11ac Wi-Fi solution, the new module provides audio manufacturers with a more efficient and faster turnaround time from design to sale. Audio manufacturers will be able to incorporate the product into audio components for StreamSDK capabilities while reducing product and software development times.

“The Stream810 is a high-end streaming device, created in collaboration with NXP, and its innovative design has already created traction within the audio community. We’re working with prestigious brand names to integrate Stream810’s technology into many products making their debut in 2017,” adds Frits Wittgrefe.

“We are excited to be working with StreamUnlimited in providing a high-end streaming audio solution based on the i.MX 7Dual applications processor, which combines high processing throughput with energy efficiency, making it suitable for a wide range of portable and static audio products. Collaborating with StreamUnlimited provides our customers with a reliable and fast to market solution, with the option of adding smart home functions in the future,” said Martyn Humphries, Vice President of Media Applications Processors at NXP Semiconductors.

StreamUnlimited also partnered with THX to make sure its  flagship module meets THX performance standards, creating a reference quality audio streaming solution and further reinforcing the leadership recognition of StreamUnlimited in the industry. The new Stream810 module was designed to offer audio manufacturers the best possible reproduction of audio streaming.  Furthermore, the parties plan to work together on future multi-room offerings that support HD audio (DSD, FLAC up to 384 kHz) and HD audio multichannel streaming.

“StreamUnlimited has a respected reputation for the quality of their hardware and software offerings. Given our parallel values to make certain only the highest quality solutions are brought to market, THX is thrilled about this partnership and looking forward to working together on the Stream810 and future collaborations,” says Jason Marr, Senior Director of Global Accounts at THX.

“The Stream810 is a high-end streaming device, created in partnership with NXP and Marvell, and its innovative design has already created traction within the audio community,” adds Frits Wittgrefe. “The crown on our work is the partnership with THX.”
