AKM Launches AK5705 Low Power 4-Channel 32-bit A/D Converter

Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) has developed the AK5705, a low power consumption 4-channel 32-bit A/D converter (ADC) with a built-in transimpedance amplifier in addition to a low-noise microphone amplifier. The new AKM the AK5705 ADC is connectable to current output sensors, supports a sampling frequency of 384kHz, and achieves a dynamic range of 109dB, while consuming 43% less power than existing AKM products. The built-in AC coupling capacitor significantly reduces the mounting area including external components.

As anticipated, Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has released to production the new flagship stereo D/A converter (DAC), the Velvet Sound Verita AK4499EX, showcased at the High End Munich show in May 2022. Alongside the AK4499EX, AKM has also released the AK4191 Digital Filter and ΔΣ Modulator, completing a two-chip solution that makes it easy to improve performance with completely independent digital and analog circuitry.

Following a period of over a year working together in development, Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) has entered into a license agreement with Israel-based Silentium for automotive Active Road Noise Cancellation (ARNC) technology. Silentium’s Quiet Bubble software technology will be incorporated into one of AKM’s audio voice processors for distribution worldwide. Sample shipments are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has developed and started the release of samples of the AK7749, an in-vehicle DSP-integrated CODEC with an automatic mode switching function to support voice applications, and a full range of digital and analog input/output interfaces. The AK7749 is a RAM based, highly integrated, programmable digital signal processor, with 4 channel ADCs, 2 channel DACs, a MIC gain amplifier, a line-out amplifier, 4 channel SRCs, and digital audio I/F, all in a space saving small 48-pin QFN package.

Creative Launches Sound Blaster X1 USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier

Creative Technology launched the Sound Blaster X1, an updated version of its SXFI AMP introduced in 2018, offering an improved USB DAC and headphone amplifier in the same exact compact form-factor. The Sound Blaster X1 combines the company's Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine with its Super X-Fi Headphone Holography technology, one of the earliest attempts at a binaural spatial audio engine. The difference is that the Sound Blaster X1 is now targeted for all computer audio needs.
