As of December 1, 2018, TEAC America, Inc. will be operating from a new corporate headquarters located at 10410 Pioneer Blvd, Unit #1, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Having resided in their current Montebello location since 1973, this move will offer the TEAC and TASCAM teams a facility which is more in sync with their current sales and marketing efforts and will feature enhanced meeting and demonstration areas as well as cooperative workspaces for teams and onsite media production."While there are a great many memories associated with our current address, we are excited to ring in the New Year in a new location," says Koichiro Nakamura, President of TEAC America, Inc. "As our business continues to grow and evolve, we view this change as an invigorating step into our future."
While this move does include a change to the mailing address, all other contact information - including phone, email and web - will remain unchanged.
TEAC winning products
With TEAC and Tascam now entering a new growth phase independently of the troubles in the Gibson group, the company has announced that several of its latest products have received the prestigious Visual Grand Prix (VGP) 2019 Awards.
The VGP Awards are held by Ongen Publishing, one of the most prominent publishing companies in Japan with an expertise in audio and home theater related devices and state-of-art sound technologies. The magazines have awarded VGP 2019 Awards to the TEAC NT-505 USB DAC/Network Player, UD-505 USB DAC/Headphone Amplifier and TN-400BT Analog Turntable with Bluetooth in their respective categories.
The TEAC NT-505 is the latest dual monaural USB DAC/Network Player successfully incorporates the latest network technologies in an attractive package with an A4-sized footprint and uses the latest VERITA AK4497 DAC chip on each of the two channels. This improves the S/N (signal to noise) ratio by processing each channel individually in monaural mode, as well as delivering DSD512 (22.5MHz) native and 768kHz/32-bit PCM playback capabilities. The Analog section includes four TEAC-HCLD buffer amp circuits that allow different drive modes, fully-balanced drive for balanced output, and parallel drive mode for unbalanced output. Most importantly, the NT-505 supports all high-quality music subscription services, TIDAL and Qobuz, and is Roon Ready. There’s also a built-in MQA decoder. The Bluetooth receiver supports LDAC and Qualcomm aptX HD.
The similar TEAC UD-505 is a dual monaural USB DAC with an integrated fully-balanced headphone amplifier, using the new Pentaconn 4.4mm headphone jack, allowing balanced and active ground connections within a single jack, while conventional 1/4" phone jacks are also provided.
As for the TN-400BT Analog Turntable with Bluetooth, this model is clearly an excellent example of features and design for the modern home, featuring a Qualcomm aptX and AAC Bluetooth transmitter that streams music from LP records wirelessly and listen via Bluetooth headphones and speakers. A die-cast aluminum platter provides accurate rotational speed while an S-shaped static-balanced aluminum tone-arm provides accurate tracking. The built-in Phono EQ amplifier enables the TN-400BT to be connected to a conventional hi-fi amplifier or a micro hi-fi, while a universal-type headshell allows users to change cartridges with ease. There's also a USB output for users to digitally archive their records on a PC at 16-bit/48kHz resolution. For convenience, a quality Japanese-made moving magnet-type cartridge comes pre-installed, so users can quickly start enjoying their records without a lengthy set-up procedure.
