Skullcandy announced the release of their all new Crusher ANC 2 Headphones, the newest edition to the haptic bass-thumping Crusher range. The headphones take Skullcandy's patented Adjustable Sensory Bass to the next level with the addition of Active Noise Canceling, upgradable features, hands-free voice control and more. With up to 60 hours of battery life, rapid charge technology and customizable EQ modes, the new Skullcandy headphones are ideal for users looking for a next-level immersive audio experience. Bragi and Native Voice are two key development partners in this new Skullcandy product.
The Crusher ANC 2 headphones have been designed to deliver personalized, customizable experiences for every listener. With Skull-iQ Smart Feature Technology, users are able to create and tune features to their unique hearing preferences, and utilize hands-free voice commands to control their audio and engage with additional voice assistants. Lightweight and durable, these headphones boast design updates with comfortability in mind.
Built with larger earcups, an asymmetric yoke and a notch in the headband for improved comfort, the Crusher ANC 2 headphones are ideal for all day wearing. The headphones are also flat-folding and collapsible, packaged in a durable travel case, making them perfect for on-the-go use. Users can customize the button functions for unique controls, and if the headphones are misplaced, they can simply "ring" it from the Tile app.
"This latest generation of Crusher gives fans the bass response they loved in its predecessors, with the added feature of Active Noise Canceling," says Jason Luthman, Director of Global Product Management. "We have been refining and improving the Crusher Technology for over a decade now and Crusher ANC 2 is our seventh iteration in the family. For those looking for a premium headphone, the all-new Crusher ANC 2 has it all and will no doubt deliver the world-class listening experience they crave, while layering on robust, in-demand features at a ridiculously good value."
Skullcandy developed a user experience centered around individual customization. Users can personalize the proprietary haptic bass one of three ways; rotating the adjustment wheel on the left ear cup, using the hands-free voice command "Hey Skullcandy, More Crusher," or creating bass preferences directly on the Skull-iQ app. Adjustable four-mic Active Noise Canceling not only detects and cancels noise but can now be customized and refined. Users can also set up a Personal Sound profile to tune Crusher ANC 2 to their unique hearing through a short hearing real-time audio test on the app.
Additional details surrounding Crusher ANC 2 headphones ($229.99 MSRP) include up to 50 Hours of battery life with ANC turned on, and rapid charge allowing up to 4 hours of playtime in just 10 minutes of charging. Over-the-Air updates allow users to update the headphones via the Skull-iQ App to add new features for enhanced functionality and to extend the life of the headphones. With updated Bluetooth specifications, the new Crusher ANC 2 headphones now support multipoint pairing regardless of platform or manufacturer, Clear Voice during calls, and Auto On/Connect for automatic connection and pairing with the last Bluetooth device used.
Skullcandy has once again partnered with Bragi to elevate the latest Crusher ANC 2 headphones with the latest Bragi experience platform, Bragi 5. Bragi enabled the Skull-iQ App for Skullcandy, offering dedicated spaces to optimize and configure the various features of the device, as well as provide insights based on the user's behavior on the app.
Native Voice Inside New Skull-iQ App
Native Voice, the on-demand voice AI library that enables users to communicate directly by voice, is in Skullcandy's new Skull-iQ App. The app gives users of Skullcandy devices equipped with Skull-iQ Smart Feature Technology access to “Hey iHeart” and Alexa voice assistants as well as a range of advanced customization features. The new Crusher ANC 2 can enable “Hey iHeart” and Alexa inside the new Skull-iQ App.
"By working with Native Voice, we are offering an ever-expanding library of voice services, adding fun and useful interaction capabilities for our customers. This makes their favorite Skullcandy headphones or earbuds even better," explains Skullcandy CIO Mark Hopkins. "We’re excited to bring Native Voice’s library of brands’ voice assistants as a free firmware update to in-market Skull-iQ earbuds and out of the box in the newest edition of the iconic Crusher headphone franchise, Crusher ANC 2."
The Native Voice team is an integrated, strategic partner to Skullcandy helping deliver on a promise to bring the latest features to Skullcandy earbuds and headphones, whether they be newly purchased or as upgrades. "We will continue to enhance this offering in coming months as we usher in a new 'head up' era, where conversational AI services can enable more natural, human experiences," says John Goscha, Native Voice CEO.
Users of the existing Grind, Grind Fuel, Push Active earbuds, or the new Crusher ANC 2 headphones, can download the new Skull-iQ for free from the App Store and Google Play store. Inside that App, they can choose what voice assistants they want to enable with a click, and no additional app downloads are required.
The Native Voice SDK can be integrated into connected devices, allowing voice technology to remove the friction between consumer needs and brand solutions by delivering direct, multi-voice connectivity.
