Shokz Announces OpenRun Pro Mini Premium Bone Conduction Sport Headphones

November 10 2022, 00:55
Shokz, formerly AfterShokz and known for its patented bone conduction technology and open-ear headphones, announced OpenRun Pro Mini, a smaller version of Shokz’s most premium bone conduction sports headphones - OpenRun Pro. The reduced-size version of the boundary pushing open-ear headphones improves performance in a 0.83-inch shorter band, giving those with smaller head sizes and ear shapes a more comfortable and snug fit in a smaller titanium frame.

Shokz, formerly AfterShokz, is a pioneer in bone conduction technology and while its original models didn't exactly delivered the best audio quality reproduction compared to traditional in-ear or over-ear headphones, they found a niche market in all applications were open-ear headphones are preferred. Those can be open-office workers, drivers and commuters, and certainly athletes and anyone practicing regular fitness and outdoor activities. As the company introduced new improved models, it gradually built a user community, providing valuable feedback about the features that needed improvement. The fit and the grip proved to be the most important aspects for Shokz bone conduction designs, particularly when used in intense activities such as running.

Much like the standard OpenRun Pro version, the new OpenRun Pro Mini design is powered by patented Shokz TurboPitch 9th generation bone conduction technology, which adds two bass enhancers located inside the transducers for improved sound quality and enriched bass, while keeping both ears open to surrounding ambient sounds. In addition, spoken words are softer and more natural-sounding, making OpenRun Pro Mini a great choice for audiobooks and podcasts.

"Since its debut earlier this year, OpenRun Pro has provided athletes with world-class comfort and increased awareness without compromising on sound quality," says Vincent Xiong, Chief Executive Officer at Shokz. "But for runners, lifters and outdoor enthusiasts who found the current band too large, OpenRun Pro Mini’s shorter band gives a more ideal fit for added comfort and stability. Now everyone can truly take advantage of OpenRun Pro’s patented comfortable fit and open-ear design while listening to their favorite tunes. Shokz plans to keep innovating its open-ear design and we’re thrilled to introduce this valuable option for every athlete and tech enthusiast to experience."

The new OpenRun Pro Mini bone conduction sport headphones feature Bluetooth 5.1 using a Qualcomm QCC3024 SoC, and offer up to 10 hours battery life with Quick Charge. The design is IP55 water-resistant and durable enough to withstand rainy runs, sweaty rides, or gritty conditions. Users are also able to take and/or make a call no matter where they are since the OpenRun Pro Mini design is equipped with a dual noise-canceling microphone.

Since 2011, Shokz has used its proprietary technologies and signature open-ear design for endurance, lifestyle, and communication audio products, priced for everyday use. Since the release of its popular Titanium model in 2015, the company's annual revenue has grown 2000% and currently, its monthly headphones output has reached 200,000 pieces.

The new Shokz OpenRun Pro Mini is available in black and beige for $179.95 USD
