While today’s smartphones have the capability to record audio, achieving high-quality results requires using external peripherals that are fussy and inconvenient. Stylish and easy to carry in a pocket, the all-in-one R-07 makes it simple to capture high-resolution audio wherever the user travels, and provides much longer battery duration - approximately 15 hours from two AA batteries, or as long as needed with USB bus power.
Users can manage and monitor recordings wirelessly, in situations where the recorder is out of reach, starting and stopping the recording remotely, and listening on wireless headphones or Bluetooth speakers, within range. Using the free R-07 remote control app on an iOS or Android mobile device, or the Apple Watch, users can wirelessly manage various R-07 functions and also monitor status and levels while the R-07 is placed in a prime recording location.
The R-07 records to microSD cards (SDHC format compatible) and supports mono, stereo or 4 track (stereo x2) WAV recording at rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz, and MP3 recording at rates up to 320 kbps. Top-quality onboard stereo mics are always at the ready, while handy scene setups configure all the critical recorder settings with one touch. Adapted to different recording situations, including on-location interviews, on-the-road demos, classrooms, boardrooms, field recording, the R-07 can automatically apply the ideal settings. When the user selects a Scene, the sample rate, record mode, limiter, low cut, and input level instantly adjusts to optimal settings. And the user can alter any of the settings and save them for next time.
The R-07 comes in a choice of black, white, and red colors, and accepts several accessories, including an external microphone, and stand adapters. It can be used with Roland’s CS-10EM binaural microphones/earphones, providing combined in-ear monitoring and binaural recording. For musicians, the R-07 features four internal Reverb effects and Speed Change, with 50 to 150 % of playback speed. For added protection during storage and travel, Roland is also offering an optional soft zippered pouch (CB-BPR07) and a sturdy bag with a shoulder strap and pockets (CB-BR07).
