British audio specialist RHA has announced that it will launch three new products as part of a collection of high-resolution personal audio equipment at IFA 2016. The new range includes the company’s first portable DAC and headphone amplifier, the Dacamp L1, and two high-resolution in-ear headphones, the flagship CL1 Ceramic and the stainless steel CL750. All three products will be available to audition at IFA 2016 in Berlin from 2-7 September, ahead of going on sale in October 2016.
“This new collection has been developed for users who demand more from personal audio, our goal being to replicate full hi-fi experiences on the go,” explained RHA Product Director, Lewis Heath. “Launching a brand new, specialist range of products that represent our commitment to innovation in technology, design and manufacturing is the perfect way to mark the fifth anniversary of the company’s founding.”
The Dacamp L1 is a fully balanced headphone amplifier and DAC with dedicated channel processors. RHA’s first product in the category, the Dacamp L1 uses an ES9018K2M SABRE DAC chip and class AB amplifier for each stereo channel; a configuration which enables the processing of the highest quality digital audio files from mobile and desktop source devices. The Dacamp L1 transmits high-resolution analogue audio signals to a wide range of headphones via balanced or unbalanced outputs.
Designed for use with iOS, Android, Mac and Linux devices via USB, as well as mini-TOSLINK and 3.5mm line in, the Dacamp L1 features a fully balanced Mini XLR (4-pin) output for use with the RHA CL1 Ceramic in-ear headphone’s Ag4x cable. Each channel is separated from the source device to the ear, eliminating the risk of interference or distortion. Outputs also include standard 3.5mm jack and it supports a wide range of headphones (12-600 ohms). The Dacamp features a 4000mAh Li-ion battery to provide up to 10 hours playback and is able to charge mobile devices. Controls include Bass and treble dials (-3dB to +9dB) and 3-step gain. Price is $549.95 MSRP.
CL1 Ceramic In-Ears
Optimized for use with amplifiers like RHA’s Dacamp L1, the CL1 Ceramic combines two different transducer technologies to exert extended levels of control over the frequency range - 16-45,000Hz. Specifications detail 150 ohms impedance, with 87dB sensitivity and 10/50mW rated/max power. Designed for high-resolution audio sources, the headphone’s CL Dynamic transducer has been engineered for bass and midrange accuracy, while the ceramic plate driver generates precise upper frequency and harmonic tones, with a crossover configured at 8kHz.
The CL1 also features RHA’s first high-density ceramic housings with low acoustic chamber resonance and detachable cable system with mouldable over-ear hooks, affording high levels of both durability and comfort. The new in-ears are supplied with 3.5mm/6.25mm OFC cable and Ag4x Mini XLR (4-pin) braided cables. Detachable custom, secure sMMCX connections prevent contact degradation. Supplied tips include silicone and Comply Foam ear tips in a variety of styles and sizes. Price is $449.95 MSRP.
New CL750
The CL750 uses RHA’s ultra-wideband CL Dynamic transducer for sound reproduction up to 45kHz. Drawing design inspiration from the critically-acclaimed MA750, it features stainless steel housings in RHA’s Aerophonic design, in addition to a new braided OFC cable. With an impedance of 150 ohms, the CL750 is optimized for use with amplifiers, and is also certified as high-resolution audio capable by the Japan Audio Society. Expected price is $139.95 MSRP.
