QSC Introduces Q-SYS SPA-Q Series Network Amplifiers Suitable for Smaller Spaces

QSC, the amplifier company from Costa Mesa, California, has evolved considerably over the past decade, expanding its QSC systems approach to a complete ecosystem of solutions based on its software-based Q-SYS cloud-manageable audio, video and control platform. This approach is even generating a series of Q-SYS products, of which the new SPA-Q Series of network Class D audio amplifiers with multiple I/O options is just the latest example.
 
QSC continues to expand its range of Q-SYS software-based solutions, which includes its Q-SYS OS designed as an IT layer for mission-critical technologies, which includes a robust audio engine, video engine and control engine providing processing at the software layer, with a robust OS administrative layer manages the complete integrated systems approach. This Q-SYS OS drives the entire Q-SYS line of Q-SYS Core Processors, network amplifiers, network loudspeakers and I/O devices.

Recently, QSC announced the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program, which enables software and hardware technology (vendor) certified or validated partners to create market-ready solutions integrated with the Q-SYS Platform. Key companies already in the pipeline to join the Q-SYS Technology Program include Audio-Technica, Barco ClickShare, ETC, L-Acoustics, LG, Logitech, Mersive, Perfect Octave, Ping HD, Sennheiser, Volteo Edge and Yealink. 

The introduction of the latest SPA-Q Series of network amplifiers, fits within that integration strategy, providing a flexible Q-SYS amplification solution with additional audio/control options to support a wide range of applications. The SPA-Q Series is complemented by the QIO Series of network I/O expanders and Q-SYS software licenses that pair perfectly with smaller Q-SYS Cores (such as the Q-SYS Core Nano) audio network processors. The convection-cooled Q-SYS SPA-Q 100-2f (two channel x 60W) and Q-SYS SPA-Q 200-4f (four channel x 60W) amplifiers provide bidirectional GPIO for control and two onboard software-definable flex channels (either mic/line inputs or line outputs, configured through Q-SYS Designer Software), giving integrators the greatest amount of flexibility for I/O and control at the periphery of the system.

Ideal for smaller spaces, both models are half-rack, 1RU and deliver clean sound and performance without overpowering the space. All channels can be configured by software to operate in single ended more at 8 or 4 ohm loads, bridged for 120W at 8 ohm, and 70V or 100V RMS high-impedance mode (120W). In addition, the amplifiers include hardware for multiple mounting options allowing for flexible placement.
