The partnership announced at CEDIA 2016 extends the Bang & Olufsen acoustic product portfolio of passive in-wall/in-ceiling speakers, providing a multitude of options in terms of both design and performance. The portfolio ranges from speaker solutions for background listening and up to dedicated high-end home theater installations.
Back in the 1980’s the founders of Origin Acoustics designed and manufactured the first in-wall speakers for Bang & Olufsen. As Origin states, “nearly four decades later we have renewed our partnership to create a stunning lineup of the world’s most perfectionate designer architectural speakers. The Bang & Olufsen Celestial is an in-ceiling lineup inspired out of our revolutionary Director Collection. From the Zip-Clip 2.0 Tool-Less Installation to the Tri-Linear fully-pivoting Configuration, each piece has been constructed to deliver pure sonic bliss with the mark of elegance instilled in Bang & Olufsen’s rich history.”
The Celestial in-ceiling speakers combine great sound performance and flexibility and simple installation. The Celestial speaker range is designed for discrete background music listening, high performance listening and an involving home theater experience. The range features 2-way and 3-way systems ranging from 6.5-inch to 10-inch.
The Palatial in-wall speakers are made for active listening, whether it is music or as an invisible home theater in the living room. With two basic models revealed so far, the larger BOPTHTR66 speaker features a three-way design with two 6.5″ fiber glass woofers for bass, another two for the mid range, and a 1″ Pivoting Tonearm Tweeter, while the two-way BOPLCR66 model features the same two 6.5” woofers with rubber surround and 1” Pivoting Tonearm Silk DPSD Tweeter. The Spring-Lock 2.0 Tool-less system allows for effortless mounting.

“Origin Acoustics is highly appreciated and respected in the installation industry for providing high-quality solutions that cater to the specific needs of the installers. At the core, Bang & Olufsen and Origin Acoustics share the same values when it comes to fundamental acoustics of wanting to give customers superior and accurate sound quality and a dedication to engineering performance while also considering aesthetics,” says Christoffer Østergaard Poulsen, Director, Home Integration, Bang & Olufsen.
